1. Competitions entered by post or Internet/Email
1.1.
The
competition is promoted by the Baldock Festival (the BF).
1.2.
The
competition is open to residents of Baldock and surrounding area.
1.3.
Entrants
must provide the following details when entering the competition:
name, age (if under 16), address, telephone number and/or e-mail address
(where available).
1.4.
If you
are under the age of 16, you must obtain permission from your
parent/guardian before entering.
1.5.
Only two
entries will be accepted per entrant.
1.6.
The
closing date for entries is stated in main competition publicity and may
be extended at the discretion of the BF.
1.7.
Winners
will be selected from the entries received on or before the closing
date, and will be contacted by the BF directly.
1.8.
Any
prizes must be taken as offered. There are no substitutes or cash
alternatives.
1.9.
The BF
reserves the right to substitute advertised prizes if, for reasons
beyond its control, circumstances require it.
1.10.
For the purpose of the competition, the entrant's age will be the age of
the entrant on the closing date.
1.11.
The BF accepts no responsibility for late or lost entries due to
failures of the internet, postal system or any other delivery method.
Proof of posting / sending is not proof of receipt.
1.12.
Entries will be received and seen by BF Committee members
(“Receiving Officers”) who are independent of the judging. The Receiving
Officers will remove all entrant details and apply a reference number to
each entry, before passing entries to the judges. Consequently, the
competition is not open to persons involved in the organisation or
running of the competition, or their immediate family.
1.13.
The BF will not publish or provide your contact details to anyone
and will use them only for the purpose of running this
competition. The BF may publish your name, age if under 16 and
school/college name (if provided) alongside your entry, in the event it
is displayed or published by the BF or by any third party
authorised by the BF.
1.14.
Entrants
confirm that they are the copyright owner of their entry/entries into
the competition.
1.15.
Whilst the copyright of the entry/entries shall remain with the entrant,
the BF reserves the right to display and/or publish, or forward
for publishing by a third party, any entry submitted to the competition.
1.16.
Entries will be returned to the entrant at the end of the competition
and/or any subsequent display only if a stamped, self addressed envelope
is included with the entry. The BF can accept no responsibility
for any entries which are damaged or lost at any stage during or after
the competition.
1.17.
Decisions made by the judges and the BF shall be final in every
situation, and no correspondence entered into.
1.18.
The BF reserves the right to cancel the competition, if deemed
necessary, for any reason and at any time.
1.19.
No
responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made
fraudulently.
1.20.
These Rules are governed by the laws of
England and Wales.
1.21.
Entrants must comply with these Rules to be eligible for any prizes
offered. By entering the competition, entrants (and the parent/guardian
giving entrants under 16 permission to enter as per Rule 1.4) agree to
comply with and be bound by these rules, and accept responsibility for
any outcome arising from their failure to abide by them.
1.22.
The BF reserves the right to amend rules listed under section
1 of the Baldock Festival Standard Competition Rules at any
time. Where such amendments take place during a competition that has
opened for entries but has not been judged, all entrants to that
competition will be notified that an amendment has been made and given
the option to withdraw should they so wish. Competitions judged before
amendments were made to these rules shall be subject to the rules that
prevailed at the time of judging.
