May Day Murder Mystery @ St. Marys Church Hall, St Mary’s Churchyard, Hitchin Street
May 4 @ 7:30 pm

This year’s play has been written by one of our own members of Baldock Town Twinning who are organising this event.

In recognition of the centenary of the end of the Great War, this play is a tribute to those who had to rebuild life in Hertfordshire after the war.

Set in a North Herts town in 1919…….could it be Baldock? The trauma of rebuilding their lives presents numerous problems resulting in a murder within the family of the local gentry.

As usual Dinner will be served during the interval, but please bring along your own nibbles for the evening.

The ticket price covers your entry fee, a hot supper plus, of course, dessert, a reasonably priced bar (no BYO, please) as well as the Murder Mystery entertainment and a raffle.

Come and join us for an evening of nourishment and entertainment written by one of our own.

Solar Viewing @ The White Lion Baldock High Street
May 18 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We have all looked up at the night sky and marvelled at the stars and the moon swirling above us. Some of us may have used binoculars or a telescope to look in more detail.

But how many of us have looked at the sun?

Not very many………..Why?

Well, it’s very bright, hurts your eyes, and if you put a lens in the way will burn and start fires! It’s dangerous!

Letchworth and District Astronomical Society (LDAS) in conjunction with The Baldock Festival have organised a solar viewing day to change this!

Come along between12:00 and 16:00 when there will be specialist equipment and members of LDAS available to let you look at the sun safely and join the small group of people who have observed the sun!

Just Dig This at the Hen and Chickens @ The Hen and Chickens, South Rd, SG7 6BZ
May 19 @ 4:00 pm

Just Dig This is a five piece Rhythm and Blues band consisting of two guitars, bass, drums, and harmonica.

The band was formed in March 2016 with some of us being known to each other in previous working lives. Stuart, our lead vocalist/guitar, fronted a Be-Bop/Rockabilly band in the 80/90’s.

Andy, our drummer, has also played in many bands over the years.
Francis , harp, plays regularly at blues jams and open mic nights.
Jim, guitar/vocals, had never played in a band before so was quite new to the scene.
Our new for 2019 bass player, Dave Crowder, is no stranger to our set list of 60’s and 70’s covers – he used to play them as a youngster in a band whilst the original artists were still playing them!
Our original bass player Kev Crase remains available to step in as a dep, but has his own music projects under way.
