Meet outside Community Centre, Simpson Drive, 10.15am for 10.30 start (NB: This is a morning walk)
Jane Havercroft will take you on a 2 hour, 1.5 mile stroll around the back lanes and footpaths in the town centre to discover their history. All on tarmac so accessible to most mobility scooters; possibly too much traffic for small children and dogs. This popular walk was sold out last year so it has been decided to repeat it to give those who missed it a chance to take part this year.
Also on Sunday 6th and 13th May
Meet at the corner of Limekiln Lane & South Road at 2.15pm for a 2.30 pm start.
The walk will follow the ancient Maltman’s Way, pointing out the historical landscape and touching on farming and the wool trade. It will finish in Clothall Church with its medieval ‘bird window’ and inscriptions. The walk will be about 3½ miles and is not suitable for small children, buggies or dogs.
