Baldock Community Orchestra presents, Festival Favourites! Bizet to Beatles, Sousa to Skyfall.
The BCO was formed just over three and a half years ago.
The brainchild of two local professional musicians Catherine Wilmer and Rachel Thomas. Rachel is the current Musical Director.
The BCO ethos is to promote a wide repertoire of music to as many people as possible. It provides a unique opportunity for young people and anyone wishing to return to playing to play in an Orchestra again. The players come from Baldock and the surrounding area.
Since its formation the Orchestra has been based in Baldock.It rehearses Thursday nights (term time) Please see Facebook for more details.
During its short existence the Orchestra has performed in several Baldock locations, The Heritage centre, Orange Tree pub, St John’s School and tonight’s venue the URC church.
It has supported several Baldock events, playing at the Beer Festival and Christmas Fair. Other concerts have been given in Hinxworth, Letchworth. Christmas time a small ensemble from the Orchestra played at two local residential homes.

Enjoy some live music Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. On Saturday and Sunday we will be hosting a traditional African Braai serving BBQ’d meats such as Boerewors and Sosaties which will be supplied by local butchers.
St Mary’s Schools PTA’s popular Bingo Night is back. Bar opens at 6pm and first call is at 7pm. There are cash prizes, a raffle and bar. Ticket prize includes bingo books. Over 18s only.
Many people may remember the sell–out concert that Elsa Jean McTaggart did last year when she paid tribute to Eva Cassidy. We are enormously pleased to be welcoming her back with her Hebredean Fire set which includes tunes and songs from the Highlands and Islands played on the fiddle, mandolin, guitar and accordion. Herts Variety invite you to join them at ‘A Night at the Musicals’ in their 15th year of performing for the Baldock Festival. All their proceeds go to local charities and audiences are invited to sing along.
