Historical Walk to White Hill @ Meet at the corner of Limekiln Lane & South Road
May 4 @ 1:45 pm

Meet at the corner of Limkiln Lane & South Road. 1:45pm for a 2:00pm start

The walk will follow the ancient Maltman’s Way, pointing out the historical landscape and touching on farming and the wool trade.

It will finish in Clothall Church with its medieval ‘bird window’ and inscriptions.
The walk is about 3½ miles and includes some steep ground and stiles; there is no shelter along the route.

Not suitable for small children, buggies or dogs.

Allow 2½ – 3 hours.

All proceeds will be donated to Clothall Church Restoration Appeal.

This walk also takes place on Sunday 12 May at 2.15pm.

Evening Burn around the Greenway @ Meeting Point: The Orange Tree, Norton Road, Baldock

Ability level: Beginners welcome.
Baldock MTB will provide a guided tour of the Greenway showing cyclists the route and ability and time depending, a few variations/additions to the official route. Starting at the Orange Tree, Norton Road, Baldock at 6:30 riders will be given a leisurely guided tour around the Greenway, with opportunities to explore some interesting alternative routes, picking up tips and tricks from experienced cyclists. Riders will finish back at the Orange Tree between 20:00 and 21:00 (dependent upon experience) having covered approx. 15 miles. This event is suitable for all riders aged 13 and over (Children under 16 years must be supervised by a cycling adult). All riders must wear cycling helmets and are responsible for providing their own cycles in good working order. LIGHTS WILL BE NEEDED , depending on finish times and detours taken lights may be required towards the end of the ride (and to get home after being refreshed).

Hybrid, gravel and Mountain bike suitable route – please be aware that some of the route variations may be on uneven and rooted singletrack.

Mountain Bike Morning Ride @ Meeting point: The Orange Tree, Norton Road, Baldock

Ability level: A good level of fitness, those looking to improve their off-road ability and to learn some local routes.

Baldock MTB will provide a guided route, tuition and tips and chat to help improve your skills and confidence when mountain biking. Starting at The Orange Tree @ 9am riders will be guided around off-road routes, off the beaten track, being given opportunities to explore some interesting local off-road single tracks and trails, picking up tips and advice from experienced mountain bikers. The distance covered during the session will be approximately 20 miles, riders will finish back at The Orange Tree at approximately 12 noon (dependent on experience and speed).

The event is suitable for riders age 13y and over (children under 16 must be supervised by a cycling adult and capable of the distance).

All riders must wear cycling helmets and are responsible for providing their own cycles in good working order.

It is strongly advised that some food is taken, a water bottle is essential.

Baldock Street Fair @ Baldock High Street, SG7 6AX

Baldock Street Fair is one of the must attend days in the Calendar, with stalls and free shows down the high street and around town.

Baldock High Street

Fifty colourful craft and local charity stalls will line the High Street, along with the following highlights in the performance area:-

‘Tricky Micky’ is back again with five 30-minute performances which will include a Punch and Judy show.

Try Circus Skills – Learn to juggle, hula hoop, walk on stilts, or ride a unicycle, with expert advice and learning tips from Try Circus Skills, for children and adults.

Fairground rides – James Harris will again be bringing his fairground rides to delight the children.

Sandy Ukelle –Playing a lot of different styles of music and ranging from the 50’s 60’s 70’s and some reasonably modern stuff.  You should be able to sing a long.

Zumba Display in the arena.

Morris Dancing at various places around the High Street and pubs.

Open Gardens @ Gardens in and around Baldock, SG7 6AX
May 24 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

This event, organised by Baldock Rotary Club, gives you another chance to look around some of Baldock’s hidden gardens. Details of the gardens open and a map will be provided when you buy your ticket. A mini bus will operate to and from Templars to gardens on a requested basis. Take refreshments in the courtyard at Templars (between 2.00pm and 4.00pm) where you can listen to the Bygrave Handbell Ringers. All proceeds from this event will go to the charitable causes that Rotary is supporting throughout the year.
