Chef at Home will be taking over The Arbury for one night only during the Baldock Festival. They are a local, family-run business with Kish behind the stove. He will be preparing a delicious five-course menu showcasing all that Chef at Home do with a focus on British produce which will include a British cheeseboard.
The Food Trailer
The newest addition to the family, one of the offerings from the newly converted horse trailer will be Indian Street Food so to start you’ll get to enjoy a selection of small bites from the street food menu.
Fish at Home Platter
Kish also runs Fish at Home with the help of his partner Kerry. He started Fish at Home to not only help support dayboat fishermen & their families during lockdown but to also make restaurant-quality fish more accessible to the local community. So to start you’ll be treated to a beautiful seafood platter filled with shellfish, cured fish & smoked fish. A seafood lover’s dream!
Private Catering
A growing part of Chef at Home is the private catering and by far the most requested menus are the bespoke 3-course menus Kish produces for dinner parties tailor-made for each customer. So for mains, you’ll be treated to a dish from his private catering menu using amazing South Devon beef that freely grazes less than 15 miles from Baldock, just north of Buntingford. It’ll be a main course to showcase not only the quality of the beef but also Kish’s skill set in the kitchen that he may not have showcased cooking his takeaway menus previously.
My favourite dessert
For dessert, Kish will prepare his favourite dessert, A warm chocolate fondant. It’s not only his favourite dessert to eat but also to prepare and to plate. It’s the perfect way to finish off a celebratory meal during the festival.
A British cheeseboard
When it comes to cheesemaking, we are a long way behind our European counterparts. Kish is passionate about supporting our ever-growing cheese industry by eating British cheeses where possible. The standard of British cheese has improved drastically over the last 15 years and needs our support more now than ever in order for it to continue to grow. The cheeseboard will be a fun way of discovering British cheeses as you’ll try 6 different cheeses from the mildest to the strongest. If there are any in particular you like, there’ll be an opportunity for you to purchase some to take home on the night.
Please note on this occasion we will not be able to cater for any alternative menu choices, allergies or intolerances.
