Meet 9:45am for a 10:00am start. Also on May 10th at different times. See May 10 for details of this walk.
Jane Havercroft will take you on a stroll round the streets of Baldock to discover the origins of Baldock’s street names including those names no longer in use. All on tarmac so accessible to most mobility scooters; possibly too much traffic for small children and dogs. The walk will last about an hour and a half. This is a repeat of Jane’s walk from last year, but as some people were not able to get tickets then she has decided to repeat it this year.
This walk also takes place on May 10: please see details for times.
This new display catalogues the history of the town’s 821 year old charter fair. There will also be albums of old photographs to look through and second-hand history books to buy.
This event, organised by Baldock Rotary Club, gives you another chance to look around some of Baldock’s hidden gardens. Details of the gardens open and a map will be provided when you buy your ticket. A mini bus will operate to and from Templars to gardens on a requested basis. Take refreshments in the courtyard at Templars (between 2.00pm and 4.00pm) where you can listen to the Bygrave Handbell Ringers. All proceeds from this event will go to the charitable causes that Rotary is supporting throughout the year.
